It’s been a while since I completed the Coan/Phillipi Deadlift routine and I never made a proper review of it. So here it goes:
Starting max: 260kg (I probably had a bit more in me since it was an easy max)
Ending max: 290kg (true 1RM!)
Time in between: 11 weeks. The program actually lasts 10 weeks but I had to repeat one workout because I didn’t perform as I should.
My personal opinion is that the program is very good for someone who is not too advanced in the deadlift and needs to specialize in his weaknesses. So, for someone who wants to put in the hard work and improve I think that its very good. Special care must be taken to input realistic numbers at the program’s calculator because otherwise it will not be possible to complete the program. I had to repeat a week because -as usual- I expected some crazy gains. It goes without saying that without lots of food a.k.a calorific surplus it will be more difficult to successfully complete the program since recovery will be hindered.
