When I was a little kid before I slept I’d drink a cup of milk, turn on a faint light and read a book. And as time passed by I’d be fighting to remain asleep. Nowadays? Can’t sleep even at 4am. Luckily this isn’t the norm…
So, if you are sitting on the computer most of the time before you go to sleep, like I do, here are a few tips that can help you:
- Turn off the room’s lights
- Use this program (works with Windows). It’s a screen brightness adjuster program to dim your screen’s brightness without having to manually press buttons on your screen’s panel and having to readjust the brightness the next day
- Listen to a relaxing song on youtube (such as this)
Extra:
If you can get magnesium for cheap you can use it, helps you relax, fall asleep easier and sleep better. Use Google to find the scientific evidence if you are interested in that.

If you want something more you can try Phenibut, stuff really works. But you gotta use it sparingly and in relatively small doses otherwise you will wake up foggy and drowsy. Here’s the wiki page.
Obviously if you have a serious problem none of the above tips are gonna help you… so good luck with that.
I also use melatonin- but I am fairly convinced that creates hormone dependency. I’ve never tried magnesium though…
I’ve used melatonin as well, ranging from 3mg to 9mg but I haven’t seen any beneficial effects. Some people say it works for them, others not. With magnesium (this is the one I’ve used http://www.nowfoods.com/Supplements/Products-by-Category/Minerals/Magnesium-Citrate-Veg-Capsules.htm – there are many different forms with different bioavailability) i’ve noticed a notch better sleep. That’s why some people say ZMA works for them and their sleep – because of the magnesium – which is much cheaper than the patented ZMA
