Notes:
Knees feel like shit nowadays. I’m leaner than in the winter and because of the reduced water retention/body fat my joints take a beating, especially my knees which are fucked up from the motorcycle traffic accident I had a couple of years ago.

Anyway fuck that shit, as Rippetoe says: “There are few things graven in stone, except that you have to squat or you’re a pussy.”

So I’m just trying to get back on track as much as I can. Pause squats seem to be easier on the knees for me so I’m doing a few here and there. I’ve gotten a little unused to heavy squats and I’m a bit shakey during the descent but what the heck, things will straighten themselves out.

I’ve been using the Tommy Kono knee sleeves lately and they offer very good support for my knees. The downsides though are significant:
1. They have started tearing and its been just a couple of months since I bought them
2. It takes some time to put them on

I went with the Tommy Kono instead of the Rehband blue sleeves because of the price difference but it seems that it might have been a wrong choice.

I’m also trying to find if injecting hyaluronic acid in my knee joint will offer better lubrication. I’ll have more info on this topic soon (waiting to hear from an orthopedic surgeon).

For those of you who are into bodybuilding as well, the sequel to the well known Pumping Iron came out and its called Generation Iron.

And here’s the song of the day that motivated me to do some heavy squats before going to the gym today:
